Put this on my GSG-5 and well, it is what it is…

I’ve been looking for a scope to mount on my GSG-5 that fit these requirements: had to be compact, had variable magnification, very close eye relief (under 3in.), and cheap.
This Nc-Star compact scope is good because it’s compact, goes down to 2x, and is cheap.
Had my eye on this: Leapers 5th Gen 3-9x32AO Bug Buster Compact Rifle Scope, Illuminated Mil-Dot Reticle, 1/4 MOA, 1 Tube But was unable to find one in stock and slightly more than I was looking to spend.
But because it’s cheap, the clarity when using it at 5x and 6x gets bad. And while it does magnify, it makes the small numbers on the targets fuzzy and you can’t see fine details.
It does go down to 2x which is great for close range and since this is on a strictly-for-fun plinker of a .22lr I see 2-4x as plenty of power.
Wind/Elev adjustments turn pretty solid, and it’s solid as a whole. The see-trough lens caps are nice for protecting the lenses, but horrible to look through. Only put 200 rounds down range so far, but seems to keep zero just fine. The reticle is a “P4 Sniper” and while I’m partial to a simple, thin plex, it’s not too crowded like a Mil-dot or rangefinder.
For what it’s intending purpose is, it serves my needs pretty well.

This scope was just as advertised. I am quite pleased and consider it to be well worth the price.
